    e30 sunroof delete cars...?

So I haven't seen very many e30's that didn't have a sunroof or convertible top in the 13 years since I bought my first 325e (schwarz, and had a sunroof- lol). One was a grey market car I saw in Monterey, CA at a wrecking yard and today I came across a 1991 318is alpine white II with a solid roof!

I would think this would be a benefit to those who race a spec e30 car, or just someone looking to build something a little different. My question is, are they that uncommon- or have I just been blind for the majority of my life?

Last I heard they are really rare, but then again, I live in a place where the ratio is 1 working e30 to 10 minivan-driving soccer moms and most e30's end up at the junk yard so what the fuck do I know right?.

If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30

Kinda thought so, I had a sunroof delete Corrado (when's the last time you saw one of those?!?) like ten year ago and people would trip out. I thought it was cool, sad thing is- this alpine white 318is is smashed as hell in the front, would anyone want to cut the roof off? The headliner was even near perfect, car had 124k... :( I hate seeing cool cars dead!

I had a no sunroof, no ABS Corrado, folks did flip out when they saw it.

          Surprisingly reliable ride.

2002's are the same way, seems like they all have sunroofs.

The only US cars that were slicktop were the 1991 318iS and it was still very rare.

Like Mr 325 said, the only US spec cars that didn't have sunroofs were 318is models, and relatively few of those as well.

On the other hand, in the rest of the world non-sunroof e30s seem to be much, much more common.

If you really really wanted a slicktop the non-sunroof roof panel is still available direct from BMW. Cut, weld, paint, slicktop.
