Use these guys all the time. Super easy, fast shipping, and usually they throw some M&M's in the box haha

First step is looking up any and all OEM part numbers at www.realoem.com
I personally buy all of my OEM parts from TheBMWPartStore. You can order directly from their site or post/PM them through their thread in the BimmerForums group buy section.Comment

"You cannot get emblems that are OEM. You can only get aftermarket or OE BMW. The emblems you ordered and that you received are factory OE Original BMW parts, sourced directly from BMW. They are certainly not “ebay ones.” This is the same emblem you would get if you purchased these from your parts department at Classic BMW in Plano for example. We only sell OE BMW roundel emblems.
Here are photos of the OE Original BMW emblems that we sent you:

is this true? you cant get them like this

OE BMW would be the emblems that you would get when buying emblems from the dealership. OEM would be emblems that could be bought from the same manufacturer that makes the emblems for BMW, usually using the same machines but cheaper components. Aftermarket would be a company making them not associated with BMW at all (ie: ebay emblems from china).
When i worked for my local BMW dealership BMW changed designs (the back was black) which made the emblems look and "feel" cheaper. Or atleast to me. Maybe they have an older pic of the "better" emblems and are selling the new OE emblems. Hmmm...sigpicComment

OE= Original Equipment, OEM=Original Equipment Manufacturer. You can buy spark plugs at the dealer, you'll get a set of plugs that say BMW and Bosch on them. Those are OE parts, that same parts that came on the car when it was new(assuming the part wasn't superseded in the meantime). If you go to the auto parts store you can order the same Bosch W8LCR plugs (or whatever type they are) and those are OEM parts. Not the same exact part that came on the car but it was made by the same manufacturer that made the original part. Are the they same part? Sometimes. For example, BMW may specify a tighter machining tolerance than the manufacturer does or a higher grade starting material.
BMW most likely makes their own roundels which is why there are no OEM roundels out there.ส็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็Originally posted by blunttechI need you to exfoliate my ballsack

BMW has changed the design and materials for them before, and generally not for the better. They used to be metal, for one, and now they're cheap plastic.
I have a cache of NOS ones I picked up from a warehouse that liquidated all it's old BMW stuff.. Sorry, you can't have one. :(Comment

Maybe call blunttech or gutenparts and explain what you want, if they don't have it perhaps they could suggest other places to look. Good luck.sigpic

Are you sure that's not a rear e30 badge?"I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj
