Weather strip between bumper and headlights for non M3`s

Hello everyone,

I´ve seen on M3`s that there`s a sealant/weather strip between the front bumper and headlights/grilles (Reference pic below.) Somewhere I read it`s used to make the E30 M3 a bit more aerodynamic or with less drag.

I think the M3´s part #s are: 51711945951 and 51711945952. Is there an OEM part # for such a sealant for non M3`s?

If there is not such a sealant for non M3`s have any one adapted something similar to a post (plastic bumpers) E30? Aesthetically I think it looks great and I am planning to replace the front bumper of my post 325i so I wanted to add such a detail if possible.

The seal you are looking for is 51112233055. It's the evo one piece seal and works on the plastic bumper e30's

But.....
I think I seen a post on the r3v Facebook about also using a e39 bumper seal.

Think I saw someone use a mini gasket or something and it looked really good. Will have to research tonight for you..

I wouldn't use the E30 M3 gasket on a regular E30. The evo gasket is a euro part and the price went up considerably for what it is. You could use hardware store weatherstripping and accomplish the same thing for a fraction of the price.

I ended up buying the E39 part suggested above (part # 51118191149), hopefully next month I will be able to install it and will let you and all know.

Bump. Did any of you end up mounting the E39 seal? How did it fit? I actually just ordered two (for both the top and bottom of the bumper).

I was about to pull the trigger on an EVO seal, but it's a bit short for non-M's, and it's 5x the price of the E39 lol.

I've always wondered if McMaster sold a profile that was the same. Then you could just get it by the foot and get as much as you wanted. I've never seen the seal in person or a good picture of the profile, so I'm not sure. Someone have a piece of seal that could take a picture / measurements?
