Anyone want to make extra $$$ by making later plastic bumpers fit my car?

As the title says. I really dont have the mechanical know how to do this to my car, but I would really like to upgrade to the later style F & R bumpers. Are there any kits that already come modified to fit the 87 and less cars? I have searched and saw a couple people who have done this and it looked great! I just dont have the time to do so. The car is a 86 325e. Thanks!

You claim you can do it, but are unsure of what needs to be done?

do you know how to twist your wrist to the right and left ?
if so, then you have all the knowladge you need.

                it's a straight swap.

Not to steal the thread but.... would a 90-91 325is front bumper swap into a diving board 88 ix?

I was thinking of purchasing an 88ix with the diving board but was concerned about this issue. Also if it does where does one buy the appropiate parts? Thanks alot

No its not...he has to trim the rear bumper. It involves the use of body filler, fiberglass and than paint. Its not an easy job.

Dude, I done it to both of my cabrios, no chopping and no nothing, perio.
coupe and sedans need mods, cabrios do not.

                            oh my,
his signature got me confused too., thought he wanted to do it to a cab, my bad.

you are deffently righ, he'll have to mod it to fit.

BTW, saw a coupe at the yard, late 88 ?
has divingboards but with later style tail lights.
I always wonder if those transition cars have the upgraded rear and if they are "straight swap ready" ?

thanks for props, your car looks great too.
can you post a few pics of your Breyton front valance/spoiler.

really like the way it fits, specialy the fact that it's almost even lenght with bumper. sweet.

looks as if you removed anti-ding trim from sides, then filled clip holes but left gully, very distintive setup.

                            cheerios,
                            Frank

Yea the 88 cars are a direct swap, no cutting or nothing.

Thanks man, theres a couple threads in members rides that show my front end. The valance isnt fit perfectly right now but its good enough for me until I get it repainted. You are correct, that is how my door moldings were shaved. I love it!
