My new stubby antenna, that is. I found this antenna in the trunk of the last parts car I bought, and held onto it just in case I ever wanted to use it. The ribbed part fits perfectly right up inside the stock antenna grommet. I just need to glue it inside the top ring, then I'm going to paint it and the chrome base satin black with SEM, and have a perfect little stubby antenna for free. It needs a bit of straightening and fine tuning, but that's pretty much the end position.
I haven't yet decided if it's going to be functional or not, seeing as I DESPISE the radio and have no use for one. This is just something a little more attractive than a chrome stump sitting on the body, and much cheaper than having the hole filled and repainted. But you never know when I might want to pop on the radio, so I might just keep it wired up.
