How did everyone mount their Reiger lips?

Mine ripped off pulling out of my driveway AGAIN today (and I just had the borough install a metal ramp to prevent this...)

I installed all new clips, but that was fucking useless as the ABS plastic is thinner then the slots, so it falls right out. So I ran screws at the sides and in the middle up through the valance. Well all that did was break the plastic after scraping a few times.

Any ideas? I guess no matter how solid I mount it, if I hit it it's going to break or crack. I took a chunk out of the bottom this morning which pisses me the fuck off.

If all else fails, Drill into the valence and lip and use some 8mm nuts/bolts all around...

That's what I did. When I hit something, it just rips right through the ABS plastic, turning the hole into a crack/slot and then it just slides off. And since it was mounted so well, instead of it simply popping off, it took a chunk out of the bottom.

It's not like I don't drive careful, it takes me a good 30 seconds to pull out of my driveway, I'm probably going less then a 1/4 mph, stopping every few inches and shit.

It sucks. I don't know how everyone else drives with this damn thing strapped to the front of their car. Maybe I'll go with an "is" lip.

          wow, ok. that's pretty bad.

I was going to suggest an is lip, but it doesn't go as well with the decor of your car as good as a rieger lip does.

I dont' know what to tell you dude. See if somebody can PS an is lip on your car.. see how it looks...

I was thinking about that, it would be pretty strong but probably would allow some flexing so it won't crack the plastic right away. I think I'll go with that when I remount it.

zip ties. they're strong enough to run over cones without the lip coming off.. just watch out for monsterous possums on the freeway. :(

oh yeah, what version do you have? the first one I had was the "crappy" one from greg that everyone dissed (and dan destroyed within a few days), but honestly that thing was pretty beefy. I bottomed out with it so many times there was no paint left underneath. I only broke it because I was a little careless...

the eurostyle one is well made and very flexible, but doesn't hold up to being run over very well.

It's a genuine Reiger lip from Abrahams. I didn't know there was different versions. Mine is tough too, there's no paint left and several deep grooves and cuts in the bottom, finally today I caught the newly installed metal "ramp" to make getting in my driveway smoother, and that didn't give one bit...

I had the same lip on my car.

I secured it by using the bolts that come with it.
Remove the factory clips off the valence by pushing the pins out with a screw driver.

You then drill out the lip according the the holes on the valence.

Bolt them up and then presto@!
