The back side mounting points are exactly where the stock ones are. It uses all the stock hardware including the hood shock.

no heat shield provisions. The factory one sucks serious ass anyways. All it does is absorb oil, then it doesnt work anymore. Just buy a stick on one if you really feel you need it. That would fit.

Why would you? Am I missing something?

I dont know how many hundreds of times I have gone over this in numerous threads.

I'm not happy with the paint work, and some of the bodywork that the bodyshop did. They will be redoing their work properly.

Pardon, guess it slipped my mind! Still looks great to me, but you know what you're talking about.

It's Jordan....come on, nothing but perfection is good enough for him and his car. 8)

btw, rear bumper is looking tight. Cannot even tell it was hacked up and created. Should look really tight.

Respray sometime in June? Patience is necessary for fans of the Project E30, for sure!

Secondly, why save money and buy a fiberglass piece? CF is stronger and lighter. If you can afford it, go for it, it's better in every way, it isn't necessary to show it off.
Chris, the VIS carbon fiber hoods are fiberglass with one top layer of CF for looks, and they have massive amounts of gel coat that weigh it down a lot. If you bought an unifinished IE fiberglass hood, I reckon you'd lose a lot more weight.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

How much to VIS hoods weigh? I thought it was sub-20lbs. IE's fiberglass hoods for normal mounting weigh 20lbs while the ones that require to be pinned weigh 13 or something.

Just a few more pics... note the large gap of the hood on the passenger side. Its less then half that gap on the drivers side, i just need to get around to centering the hood on the hinge better.

You know Jordan, it just looks like your hood is black, and your skirts and underbody effects are unpainted. But it should be badass when all done up proper. ;)

p.s. There was this Acura at this car meeting last night with a cheap CF hood. It had such gaps, I could stick my finger into the engine bay when the hood was closed.

Jordan, how much of the gap will the Evo hood seals fill up? All of it? My car's white, and I don't want a huge gap showing...
