Anyone ever shave their door handles?

Has anyone on the boards shave the door handles on their e30? If so, what hardware kit did you buy (Autoloc? 50 lbs? 75 lbs?). And can you post pictures?

    Thanks

I thought I remembered seeing one on e30zone.co.uk, but I can't find it.

If I ever get around to doing my convertible project this is one of the items I will be shaving.

    Old school roadster style! :P

Magnus is the only person I know of that did this.

He is forever having his door poper solinoids fail on him, leaving him locked out of the car.

How the hell does he get back in if the solenoids fail?
E30's are some of the best cars to do this on though, since the battery is in the trunk and you can jump from there if your battery is dead.

i have done it on a mazda pickup. they lasted a long time before they failed. i think we used 50#. we didnt use the door pushers tho. didnt want the doors to pop open and hit another car. when they did fail, we had a hanger/slimjim hidden under the vehicle.

I had a shop shave my door handles and I have never had a problem with them sticking or not popping. I got 50 pound poppers and they work fine. My doors have been shaved for 2 years now.

How much did it cost for the body work? Which kit did you buy? The Autoloc kit?

                    Thanks,

Here is my ride. I know it is not r3vlimited style but I love it and thats all that matters!
But the doors were shaved 50 bucks a door not including paint and poppers. The poppers are from auto-loc and have not given me any problems yet.
