im making an e30 truck, its not finished yet, but i have come to the point where i need to figure out what to do with the bed, i was first thinking about making a sheetmetal bed welded water tight, then maybe put a spray in liner, but that would be heavy and a lot of work, my dad ran across a guy who gave him an idea, take the normal trunklid and extending it so its one huge trunk, we also might get a CF one made, here are pics and tell me what you guys think.

HAHA!!! That thing is the shiznit. Nice work... I'd say do a thick sheetmetal bed with reinforcing ribs... maybe do the trunklid thing as a tonneau cover, with hydraulics (bonus points for using hood shocks) to hold it open?

thanks for the input matt, but i was thinking one or the other, for weight purposes and it would be lots of work, i was thinking if i did the big trunklid i would put a sheetmetal floor in it, nothing beautiful, but it wont be visible and it will be funcional, it would be a lot of work to make a bed and make it completely water tight with draining and little things like that. thanks for the ideasComment
