Bumper swap underway

Yesterday i decided to check the tracking number for the bumpers and it said it was out for delievery. So i rushed outside and started taking my bumpers off so that when they got to my house i would put them on. The timing couldnt have been better. I had a 15min break between when i finished taking them off till when they arrived.
Taking them off was very very easy. The front bumper comes off with only 2 large allen key bolts.
So far, so good. The car looks they way that you see it in the last pic right now.
Tommorow i will straighten the bottom of the valance as it is bent a little, then i will take it off and strip the textured paint off of it(it will be finished smooth when painted). I will also probably get around to taking off the rear bumper if i have time. I have work tommorow and saturday so ill see what i can do. But as long as its nice sunday, ill be able to get alot of work done to it.

Right now i cant drive the car for a week or two, so while its down and i finish with bumper stuff ill be able to do some other things ive been waiting to get around to.

Some things my car will feature when this is all done:
Shadowline
New roundles
Smooth valance
IS lip (bodycolor)
Redoing my taillights
Fix my exahust hangers
Hopefully weld around the mufflerI(theres alittle leak)
Body colored door handles
Maybe half black mirrors.

Today, I striped all the paint off the valance, and tomorow i will have to finish it off with some sanding and it will be ready for the paint shop. Sunday ill do the rear bumper than take it off. hopefully they will be off to the paint shop on monday!

nice tires.. Looks to be going good. Lucky for you you've got iS lip to put on. I still need to get something. Do you think you will do anything about the rear end? Does your car have that metal valance in the back like the 88+ coupes?

Be anxious to see it done. btw, your car looks abnormally high in some of those pictures. I know a few its jacked up, but others i dont think it is. Time for coil-overs. What did you end up paying for everything?

Well, I right now am unable to lower the car. This is because my I owe my dad some money for the car and he will not let me lower it until i pay it off fully. dont worry it will be lowered by next summer. Some pics look really really high because they were right after i took the jack down and the car was still kinda high....
i have been wanting to do the bumper swap for a long time and its pretty high on my list of things to do, so when i saw it in the for sale forum i decided to jump on it.

anyways, the rear bumper will be going on sunday and i am not getting a rear valance untill a little bit later on.

I bought the IS lip from my bro for $60(he deffinatly gave me a good deal), and i got the bumpers, valance, fogs and all other lights for $435 shipped to my door. So i didnt want to pass it up because all the local junkyards around here really suck and i wouldnt be able to find a cheaper price online.

because my dad hates lowered cars...for some reason he thinks that it is the most rediculously stupid thing you could do to a daily driven car(his reasons:wear on tires and other stuff, + he uses his cop magnet speach on me) It is very hard to talk to him about doing stuff to my car, because he automaticly rejects it. I was really hard for me to talk to him about the bumper swap, because all he says is how stupid i am because the other bumpers are stronger and IF i get into an accident my car will be ruined..blah blah blah...by then i usually just block him out while he rambles on and on.

But my dad is very stubborn, and once my car is mine, its mine and he cant say a word to me about it.

Both diving boards and plastic bumpers are 5mph bumpers, correct? How would one be safer over the other?

The only thing my front bumper (diving board) did in an accident was end up in the engine bay.
