Trimmed License Plate to fit in Euro Filler

My buddy was kind enought to let me come out to the machine shop he works at and help me out with this so that i don't hack it in my garage.

While we were there, he turned himself a new shift know out of a spare chuck of aluminum but like an idiot, i forgot to take pictures.

Here's a before and after of the plate. I still need to get off that yellow sticker that surrounded the bottom screw holes.

Basically, just trimmed off the indented 3/8" both on top and bottom, then drilled new holes for the mounts on top. It's held on fine as is, but i will eventually be adding two more screws to mount the filler to the car on the bottom.

One thing that has always bugged me about the euro plate fillers was that.

I might sound stupid. But I really dont mind if the license plate sticks out a little. It doesnt really bother me. Thats just me tho.

The standard plate does not fit into the openning, it hangs over the frame, by doing a slight trim it fits snuggly in to the openning.

Just curious, why didn't you just redrill the holes? Or even just fab up a mount that raises it up?

I like it. I adjusted mine which is the US filler. Really has a cleaner bottom line to follow.

Can't really move it up at all without trimming due to the trunk button mechanism.

I did have to redrill as well, though.

I HATE when it hangs over... I even trimmed the corners on the plate when i did mine to have a radius edge again.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.
