    Euro bumpers front valance question

I picked up a set of e30 euro bumpers and the valance that was on the same car is metal, and uses a plastic lower lip with brake duct holes. Also, fog light brackets mount with 3 screws and sit flush with the valance.

Was there more than one type of front valance for euro bumpers?

Yes. Sorry I don't know how many different types there were or when they made the design changes.

Yes, there were two generations of early euro valence. The earlier one (82-85) was flatter in the front. You have the later one.

Is the early one the one-piece fiberglass is that an add-on aftermarket or oem piece?

Also, does anybody know what the part number for the fog light delete covers for this valance would be?

That there is the early one (82-85) it curves under somewhat. Where the later one is more flat looking. Also here's a hint, you can use a e36 M3 lip on that plastic lip. The e36 part has to be cut down and trimmed to fit it though.

EDIT: real oem is showing 2 different part#'s for the fog light delete panels (#9)

Thanks! I wonder which ones actually fit the valance 51711906288/287 or 51711933767/768.

Do you know of the lower lip or apron that I have here is specific to this valance? I had a similar lower lip on my 84 when it came with the diving board bumpers, it also had the brake duct holes and all.

It's the exact same lower lip.

Got it. So the other M-Tech valance, not a sheet metal one, was also available as OEM item and NLA as well?

Guys, I want to order new plastic parts for the front euro bumper and I am confused why there there multiple part numbers for the same items.

Whats the difference? How are the mouldings/ rubber strips that aren't marked with "M technic 1" different ?

Well, the Mtech euro bumpers that fit onto the Mtech valence and great one piece is a big different in how it straps to the bumper itself. You can use euro bumpers from an mtech kit and vice versa but it doesnt bolt on the same. The regular euro bumpers like you have, will have the mouldings as snap in pieces, as opposed to the little screw type clips I believe on the mtech bumpers. So when you order parts, order for the non mtechnic.

As far as your pickup, JasonC is right. You have the earlier model units like I have. You can use any early lip on it US or Euro (same shit pretty much) as long as its not 86-87. So 83-85 will work. Those bumpers should be plug and play. One thing you will have a problem with though (at least I did) is the front turn signal lights. The connectors are different and wont plug straight in. I just left mine out.
I picked up an 87 model front lip that I'm going to fab up to the valence. It looks better in my opinion. For reference on what I'm talking about, check out Backtrail69's red sedan euro bumpered car. The early lips (83-85) always get warped and fucked after many hard years. I'm running what I consider to be the best condition possible and it still sags. Hope this clears it up. PM me if you have problems. I've been researching for a while and stocking parts for comparisons. :)

Here is a picture of what your front end will look like. I drive an 86.

Sloped front end with the early, early lip with brake duct holes.

Thank you. So to make sure I understand this, 51111888266, 51111888273, 51111888274 snap in and 51111953715, 51111953713 , 51111953714 uses screws to mount ?

Didn't know there were two types of chrome euro bumpers .
