and yeah, I hate the front plate too. the dumb thing is, washington no longer requires front tags, but you still need the plate.. as if a police officer is going to be able to read it when you pass by him. :roll: the P.O. got away without using it, but he was about 5 years older than me and the car was a lot closer to stock. I'd rather not try my luck, but maybe in a photoshoot.

Agreed on that one, I tried and it's not worth messing with them. You could trim it though, like Ted.

I think your over thinking this whole kidney grill thing. i just said fuck it and painted them black. if later on you dont like it put the chrome ones on or the body color ones. shit have three grill and put on what ever one you feel like on that day

maybe, but people around here are idiots.. and there really aren't many BMWs, especially older ones (mostly E36 and E46, with the occasional 5 series). the problem I have is when I come up behind somebody and pass them (on the freeway, legally), they see the car and some people get really weird. they also have a habit of doing 10mph under the speed limit.. argh.

wow I got off track.
If you had smoked headlights, a black grille might look better.. but on my white car it was too much black, so I went back to the chrome kidneys anyway.

I have a spare kidney grill, and I swap between black and OEM chrome every week or so, it really depends on the mood.
