black kidneys, yea or nay?

I know, I know, black kidneys are teh yuck, etc.

but, I have reasons to make them black other than purely cosmetic.. for one, people around here hate you if you drive a BMW (even if it's an old slow 4 door auto). a black kidney might help with the road rage I experience almost daily.

also, my kidneys are cracked anyway, although none of the chrome is peeled off.

so here's my before and after chops:

just paint it black, and if its unbearable, buy a new kidney for $20, no big deal. i think it looks good either way on your car.

probably a lot like chrome, only not as shiny (SS is bright). I do have enough paint leftover from the lip to do it in body color though.. hmmm.

maybe, but people around here are idiots.. and there really aren't many BMWs, especially older ones (mostly E36 and E46, with the occasional 5 series). the problem I have is when I come up behind somebody and pass them (on the freeway, legally), they see the car and some people get really weird. they also have a habit of doing 10mph under the speed limit.. argh.

Out of those 2 chroms looks better but if you have enough paint to do them body color, that would look really fuckin good. I mean, look how good Jordan's look.

I like both looks. Just buy another pair of kidneys and have one black and one chrome, then you can change them out with whatever you feel like rockin that day.

I have both black and chrome grills. I use the chrome a lot more.... at least on a black car, the black grill gets old..........

Nando, you need to do a photoshoot of your car with the front license plate off. You've got such an awesome car, I would love to have a good shot of it for my desktop, but I hate license plates. :D
