    Improving Apperance

I'd like some opinions on what some of you would do to make an 84 eta look cleaner on the outside, I do but dont like the huge bumpers... but I'd like some pointers. Already going to be getting a quality white paintjob or a darker color and some nice but not overdone rims, most likely 17's.

I know without extra cash body kits aren't really an option. I'm sure it can have a nice stance... but what do you guys think?

Not sure if you really SHOULD do anything to the eta.

I mean, it's an ETA! I always try to remember that when I want to mod my car.

If you haven't already, lower the car.

Fortunately, there aren't any body kits for the E30.

Do people around here call the Mtech1 and 2 body kits?

All of those are, even though some are factory. I think you should definitly find some nice wheels...Ronals would be nice, then euro bumpers with M-Tech 1 kit would look hot, and lets not forget some kind of suspension

Yes, this is the proper attitude. Early Etas are absoloutely worthless.
              Im now E30less.

Well, it all depends on what you're going for really. If you're looking for something with more power, get an i or is with a 5 speed. I only say that because I have an automatic E. You would be spending more on swapping parts in the e when you could really go out and buy a better and newer e30 to replace it.

                  But I'm just rambling. :P

Suspension is good; buy the cup kit. It's by far the cheapest way to go. (morepowerracing.com $549)
Don't put 17s on an eta. 15 or max 16s. Keep it cheap - like some koseis, so peeps know you actually drive the damn thing. One thing that'd help is drilling the bumper shocks. Your diving boards can be compressed about 2.5" each- it makes a difference. My black eta came with the bumpers painted black too- it's ugly, but not as bad as old dull silver. I decided to just keep the bottlecaps until I replace this car with an 89+ plastic-bumper one.
Like they say, don't spend money on an eta unless:

                    1. you can unbolt the shit and put it onto an i
                    2. you are going to do a motor swap.

If you're going to do it, your money is best spent on (in order) :
                    1. sticky tires (even on 'caps)
                    2. suspension
                    3. swaybars
                    4. an s50 swap (!@*& expensive) or...
                    4a. an m20b25 swap (cheap)

the cool thing about a motor swap is that you can take all the time in the world to rebuild and prep the new motor before it goes in. take your time, spend some money gradually, and do it right.

Two seconds after I posted. Hehe

                      Anyways, I agree with you!

Just keep in mind, when you do a swap, you're going to need a daily to use while the e30 is in the shop, which is what I lack ATM.

SInce he has already said he's getting a paint job, I figured that was a bit of a wedding ring. I am going to unload my eta pretty soon, and buy an i, then swap all the bolt-ons over- I practice what I preach!
