Name of Tightening Washer/Nut that Holds Fan Knob onto HVAC panel

Dear R3V Friends,

Does anybody know what kind of nut/washer that is used to fit the fan speed regulator to the HVAC panel? I am missing this nut/washer and therefore my fan speed potentiometer is loose and very sloppy to turn with the knob and the knob often falls off. The nut/washer I am missing is circled red in this photo. Think I could buy something similar at a hardware store? What is it even called? XD

You can look for it at online electronic part stores. But potentiometers are standardized and have pretty simple nuts compared to this.
