    Sun Visor Droop

I did a search and only found someone asking the same question in 2016 with no responses.

The driver side sun visor on my touring will not stay in the up position anymore. Is there a way to fix this without sourcing a replacement visor?

    Thanks, Cory

Since the mechanism that flips the sun visor to "up" or "down" is integral to the sun visor itself, I don't see how this could be remedied without removing the skin of the sun visor. I looked for a long time for a replacement driver's side visor on eBay before finding one with almost no tearing in the vinyl skin. It's really a shame BMW won't produce replacement trim like new dashboard, sun visors, carpet, and most of all (my big rant) a new engine wiring harness. In the 6 years I've had my e30, I've seen a lot of parts go NLA.

There are new sun visors on eBay. $390.

You need to cut the vinyl, fabricate the deteriorated inner part, then wrap in a new vinyl cover and seal it.

        Thanks for the responses!

Just for giggles, I got the specific part # for my touring from RealOEM and checked Schmiedmann for availability. Surprise - they show it still available. It does have the longest lead time I've seen from Schmiedman (30 days), but I've found their site to be very accurate regarding parts being NLA or not. I placed the order. Total cost with international shipping and fees: $80. We'll see if I actually ever get it. I will post updates with new info.

Didn't some Tourings come with gray sun visors? That's why they have different part numbers.
          The right one is unavailable.

Well, Schmiedmann let me down for the first time. Got the NLA e-mail from them yesterday. There was an eBay seller from Latvia who supposedly had a new visor in stock, so I made an offer. That triggered him to take down the listing, so it looks like the visor is truly NLA. Time to start hunting for a good used one.

Found what looks like a good set of visors on German eBay. $93 shipped.
