fog switch for the window kill switch

I had an extra fog swtich so I figured I would toss it on the center counsel instead of the oem window kill switch. It sooks better, feels better, is better. It would be the best to just get a two button counsel and get rid of the dumb thing but this is a good temporary mod.

does look pretty good except for the flat bezel. That and the fact that it wont function like the breaker (though mine has never tripped)

the OEM "switch" is a circuit breaker. I hope you don't get your hands caught in the window ever. The motors are surprisingly strong. That's why they use a breaker..

oh i see. I never understood the breaker aspect of it. Makes more sense as to why it is there.

nando: excuse me for my ignorance, but if you can reach the breaker wouldn't you try and reach for the window instead or are we assuming the window switch doesn't work?

I don't think it's meant for the driver really.. but if somebody had their hands in the window (like a kid) and whoever was closing the window wasn't paying attention.. it's powerful enough to crush their fingers/hands. thus the breaker.

              does it work like that?
wouldnt it trip when the window reached the extent of its travel every time?

i think that what they are saying that it would take more power to push against the extra force, so the increase in power would automatically trip the circuit.

yeah i understood that, but if you push the button when the windows is at the extent of the travel you can hear it trying to push against the regulator for a moment, wouldnt that trip it?

I don't know, it might have something to do with the leverage of the window lift, or perhaps the torque dropping off at the end of the track? Like how the sunroof automatically stops when it's opened/closed. I read about the purpose of the breaker a loooong time ago.
