I know the cabrio rear seat does not fit in am 89 coupe does the m3 rear seat fit?

You need to relocate the seat belt buckles to the center.

Does that consist of any drilling or special fabrication or as simple as it sounds ?

Not sure. When I did mine it was on an early car, there was no anchor there so I welded one in.

Later cars might already have it, I dunno. Even if not, you could get by with just drilling a hole and bolting it in with a plate behind it as you would do with a five point harness. Access in that area might be tricky with the fuel tank in the way though...

Or you could just say fuck the seat belts and tell rear seat passengers they're SOL.
