Yea, I guess the wiper and turn signal stalks are different on the airbag equipped cars. Same thing happens to me with my M-tech II wheel.
I am not positive, the thing is, the airbag wheel was spaced out farther from them. When I put a non-airbag wheel in my car, they got super close to the stalks. I don't mind it, except sometimes I flick the windshield wipers on accident. But it's worth it...

thats why I got rid of my stock sport wheel (still for sale too ;))
this one was 350mm (vs 375mm) and it was about half an inch farther away from the stalks.
now its 1.75" farther away from the stock than normal

TJ is right, I never had that problem with the airbag wheel, although the diameter was larger as well. Oh well, we'll see when I get it installed.

              yeah
my old button used to ground out to the hub adaptor which was bare metal
the spacer in anodized aluminum, so it wont ground through the anodizing.
my plan is to run a wire from the horn ground to the bare metal hub (about 1.5" of wire)

                Steering wheel spacer/adapter

When I bought my genuine AC Schnitzer steering wheel (nos) last year, and the Momo hub for the E30, the bolt patterns didn't match up. I ordered a 1" thick piece of stock aluminum from an Ebay advertiser for $6 (I think it was about 5" in diameter but can't check at the moment) and took it to the local auto hobby shop to use the drill press to make the needed holes. I didn't even bother to paint it because it blends in so well. Works great even on my factory airbag equipped steering column. I'll need to take better pics one day.

I was luckt to find that steering wheel. It's bigger than the usual AC steering wheels on ebay, about the same size as the stock BMW steering wheel. I think it was for a larger E28 originally and the rim is a thicker also. I tried the M-Tech steering wheels and didn't like how small they were. This one works great for my needs.
