Been thinking about doing this myself. Didn't realize Guten had stopped selling them. Interested to know as well. I like the look the OP posted.

Got mine from Levent at Guten about 4 months ago, gas and temp gauges snapped in...others took a spot of glue.

Thinking of buying the rings but painting them flat black. Anyone ever do this? I like the idea of the rings to reduce light leak but dont like the newer car look with the brushed finish.

          I don't see why this wouldn't work.
I also found this black chrome set on eBay: [link]
No idea of the quality or fitment.

I like the squarish, matt aluminum rings myself. Here's mine I got from ebay a long time back, which came together with the faux CF.

It"s been done. There's pictures floating around on here somewhere of this setup.

Bought some "Alu Chrome" ones from eBay and got them in the mail:

Aside from the finish, they have the curved face (which I expected). Thinking of installing them anyway to see how they look, but I'm still sold on the flat faced ones in the OP. Then I found these on eBay:

They look pretty flat to me, but I'm afraid I'll get them in the mail and they'll look exactly like the ones I just bought...

I was just going to ask about black rings. Honestly I hate the chrome/brushed look. I was thinking a faux m tach with carbon wrap, black trim rings, & alpine tach strip. I really want to try to find a carbon Kevlar wrap, but afaik no one makes em :

just re-installed mine in my car today. Had them in vert but took them out since it was sold.
I personally like the white needles better.

The white needles do look very nice ^^ with the polished rings.
