Just reupholster the seat center panel?

OK, I have the gray/silver cloth sport interior, matching door panels, and I removed the driver's seat that was beat to hell and put in a Recard SRD. When assessing the condition of the passenger and rear seat I noticed that the outer most part of the seats (bolsters) and the same on the rear seat are the same material as the cloth on the door panels. All the damage is isolated to the seat bottom center of the passenger and the center most part of the rear seats.

Has anyone just had the centers redone with something different/contrasting and left the sides stock? Was thinking about a tight hounds tooth or mayber a dark plaid with a little red in it to accentuate the red stitching of the SRD and other bits of the interior.

I'm actually planing to do this over the winter, keeping my tan leather bolsters and doing a plaid center.

Mtech interiors has black lleather bolsters w mtech fabric centers and Ive seen a number of interiors done in similar fashion. Its what I would do if I was going to reupholster.

My car has reupholstered sides in black leather with alcantara centers. I love it.
