Can you do a E92 steering wheel in an E30

i was just surfing some parts and i thought of an idea of how it would fit do you guys think it would fit or need some custom fabrication ( i can do that easy )? Main reason im thinking on this is the steering wheel looks nice and its cheaper than the E30 equalivant lol.

The inner spline is different along with the airbag and other electrical stuff. If you have one lying around and will mount it without the airbag I guess it's not that bad but if you want a functioning one it'd be quite an electrical undertaking. Even going to an e46 is near impossible for the electronics involved to work properly.

you would need to either machine an E30 steering shaft to fit, or frankinstien an E90 shaft and an E30 shaft. those are your options.

I've wondered about this too. Can a different column be swapped into the E30? Like swapping the whole E46 (or whatever) column in and then making the plastics work somehow.

One of my friends was telling me over the weekend he saw a guy who had sectioned an E46 dash and put it in an E30.

I think you could would require some cutting I think but I'm not an expert. Personally I really like the steering wheel and am gonna see what I can do to get it installed.
