Here come the flames...My gauge cluster

Well i don't have much interest in sharing my projects on the board anymore, but i wanted to post up these pictures just to show you that while i will take your comments into consideration, i will not let them control the path i take with my car.

Its not completed just yet, but its getting there:

    Flame away :D

Hey...not to flame too hard, but could I see a pic of the finished job with the (dash) lights off, and daylight illumination?

Izzat ABS, or what material for the IP itself.

I like the layout...do you think you could run a 330 mm wheel and still see the instrumentation?

We've already flamed you. Before you could even post. That's how similar to Batman we are.

I don't understand what you're saying, and i've never been able to grasp the "batman" thing.

Here are some flash pics. The Cluster hasn't been "finished" yet so it looks ruff. It only has cheap flat black paint on it right now. You can see in the pictures that a smaller wheel shouldn't affect the line of sight as long as the wheel is reasonable.

If it were amber, we'd respect you. After all, the rest of your car is cool.

Why? None of the other parts of my interior are going to be amber any more...W/E

Yeah but, the color you have there is so...rice. Which brings me back to my original e30tech post.

Mind sharing the dimensions for the panel you have the gauges mounted on? I'm taking a similar project on very soon.

Nice work, looks pretty good IMO.

I'm not going to go so far as to say it's "rice", but I'm not a fan of the blue, because it's the worst color light to have in your eyes at night. That's why BMW uses amber.

I'm not trying to bash you. I think you did a good job, just not my preference of gauges.

Not my style but I respect the effort. I don't understand why it is necessary to be mean spirited. We all have a right to our opinions and it IS possible to state them without being an ass.

Has anyone read the fact that BMW is considering converting to this style lights? Why? because older folks can see this spectrum easier and the fact that most older folks are buying BMW's now.

Not the fact that red is better for nightvision. That's only so in a perfect world where we don't get light pollution from oncoming cars and what not.

Is that a full bright pic? Or a dimmed pic? Glad to see you are progressing with it anyway. Looks good.

Edit: At least there is more instruments in the bezel for quick viewing. I have a Zender set up that I have yet to wire in. It goes on top of the dash to the right of the bezel.
