Like the boot but the handle just doesn't jive in the e30.

I just got the ebrake boot from Rob. Keep in mind that the stitching isn't perfect, hence why it was a free prototype. The leather is very good quality, and you can definitely see the potential in his craftsmanship.

The end was rolled too far back for my shorter leather ebrake handle so I had to do some adjusting to get it to fit correctly. I'm assuming that it was rolled back far enough to accomodate the longer plastic stock handle.

        Received:

        After adjustment:

They're definitely worth the $20 that he's asking for them, that's for sure.

        Rob,
Would it be possible for you to make one with two seams on the top? I'd like to have one that has the seams of the handle line up with the seams of the boot.

I am interested in one... are you still doing demo ones or do I have to pay $20?

                Rob,
What do your leather shift boots look like? If they're the same quality leather as the e-brake boot, I'd be interested in one.

                    He's got shift knobs too!?

If so I might be interested, especially of you could redo my mtech 1 knob. :D

And of course the ebrake boot!

Sorry, I meant to type shift boot. I corrected it above.

                        Thanks one and all.

Ken - The length as it was sent was about right for the rubber handle. You did a great job in unrolling some of it. That is the beauty of that unfinished tip - one can adjust however they like. The shift boot is the same leather, but that one I can't do a french seam on (as it goes to a point about 1/2" wide).

Rob - Let me know if you have any more trouble with it coming off the boot. You can poke small holes on the edge of the boot (that fits under the frame and doesn't show) and wire it to the protuding tips of the frame (that hold it into the consol). You can do that at both narrow ends. But like I say, let me knowif you have any more issues.

                        No more protypes available, sorry.

Any more questions, feel free to post em or PM me.

                          Rob,
Regarding the double seam, would it be possible to copy this one? It's the OEM e30 one.
                          (thanks franz)

Ken - yes, I can do it. Can you give me the exact measurements (in mm) of the distance between the seams, as well as the distance between the inside sitiches?

Btw. when I first started out on this, someone asked for suede boots with red stitching. I didn't keep the PM, but whoever you are, if you're still interested please PM me.

                            Thanks, Rob

If i can locate a Leather shift knob, and maybe an ebrake handle, you can defiantly count on a order from me, especcially if its the dual stitching. Gotta dig up the previously mentioned handles first though :)

                                Rob,
The OEM boot belongs to "franz" so I PMed him to see if he could measure it.

Can't wait to see the leather shift boot! I'll post pics ASAP when I get it installed.
