Yes, but that was a roll over. The roof on that Jetta wasn't exactly where it was from the factory. :)

And even you said it yourself, the stock seats were broken and mangled. They more then likely snaped like twigs when the roof or whatever hit them.

As Josh said, the buckle was attached to the frame that we made, not to anypart of the seat.

Wouldn't really matter, as by the time this had happened, most of the force of you moving backward would have been dispersed.

So what if the seat doesn't stay on the floor? You will still be held back by the seat belt and unless the seat some how comes out from underneith you, will be pushed back into the seat which will also be held down by the seat belt. And in the event of a bad enough crash for this to happen, I think the seat coming loose is the least of your worries.

And as Josh also said, do you really think a worn out sport seat with possible broken parts would be much better?

      Maybe I was exagerrating a bit, I suppose. :D

But it's true that I sit a good amount lower in these seats than I did in the sports, and I'm much more comfortable. It's just a more natural feeling position.

this logic reminds me of shit i used on chicks when dating. id be dead wrong but argue till they were crying and then id make them apologize to me.
cheap seats are just that. good seats should stay in one piece and stay bolted to the floor in any accident. why do you think race cars use seat back braces. i guess theres a market for junk like that because youre their target audience
