Most fixed back seats that I've seen look like they're made for harnesses, so I wasn't sure. I've seen quite a few driving instructors with 3 or 4 point Schroth harnesses and stock seats with no roll bar. Personally, I'd rather have a more supportive seat with a stock belt than the other way around, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the way they do it.

That's what I thought...Reclining street seat FTW.Originally posted by rwh11385I do. Shitty seats + harnesses suck in comparison to a highly bolstered seat and a cg lock.
fixed back seats + no rollbar = FTL as well
I didn't get a chance to compare supportive seats + stock belts to 4 pt. + stock seats.

i recently switched from my m3 seat to a recaro srd mounted to really old height adjustable sliders and the new low wedge bracket. with the high bracket i was sitting higher than the low setting on my stock seat. now with the low bracket i am a little lower than the low stock setting, but i would like it even lower. unfortunately i can't do that without another bracket or ditching the sliders. the wedge bracket retains the stock belts
with a helmet on, i have room, but not much
i'd like to see some pics of this super low setup rob hasJames

He might mean Rob Case?
Basically, you know where the floor is raised and has those vents? Put two metal beams across that, bolt a seat to it, and have had two bars welded perpendicular to those beams that are on the floor to be bolted down.
If not: My setup is only marginally lower than yours. I have your setup on my passenger side and could measure the difference.Comment

someone said rob has a seat that makes 6 footers look like children. i have no idea who rob is but the mounting sounds great
i've thought about welding up my own bracket to get my bottom-mount recaro as close to the floor as possible, but the amount of work vs the extra room gained doesn't like its worth it. i need to retain the stock seatbelts so that adds to the complexity. i'm happy with the way i'm currently setup.James

I'm no bohemoth at 5'6, but you can see what I look like in the seat. It's barely a "bracket", and more a peice of metal holding the seat bolts to the floor.

Hey Charlie, you just pulled the drivers side sport seat out of your car right? Do you still have that lying around?Originally posted by CharlieRob, aka "Skafrog".
