    gauges instlld in AC vent......

VDO op and ot gauges. Used 80 psi op instead of the more popular 150.......It allows a better sweep and I think its more suited for an m20. Set up a Longacre warning lite piggybacked to oe warning lite. CF plate was used w/ angle iron to a modified AC vent, button head type screws were used. Simple, strong and ez enuf to read......I will in addition be using a camcorder some track days to view the gauge panel .

Sorry man but I just hate the placement of the guages there. Id rather you have a pod setup elsewhere, then right there. One questions though, is this a track only car? If your car isnt dailyd then I dont give a rats ass and you can neglect the above statement.

..track only, but I drive to tracks. If I had more balls I wouldve installed gauges in mounting cups on top of dash...but I didnt want to drill thru dash. Opinions always welcomed....no prob.

looks cool! it sure makes for a more easily viewable location than down by the ashtray.

i personally don't think i'd give up my vents for it but cool location for a racer.

Looks good. Why did you go with carbon fiber? You could have just as easilly made it out of ABS plastic or even aluminum for a LOT cheaper.

              What is the orange light?

looks sweet. i also wouldn't give up my vents for gauges. what are you going to do with the vent adjusters on the sides???? scratch out the white so its less noticable???
                looks good anyways. good work.

i actually agree w/ you and would have chosen a powdercoated or vht wrinkle painted alu sheeting.....but this was done by a friend who has the cf in his car and he had the panel...it wasnt costly at all. Maybe at a later date Ill go w/ a less blingy plain sheet of alu. Light is a low op warning.

thnx......I didnt even notice the markers! Ill prolly leave them or black marker them out... With this being a track only car.....I have not been very anal about non peformance issues, and in many ways its a relief. Usually w/ my oither cars I am such a nut about every chip, imperfection, etc that I lose sleep.

Trust me, this is the PERFECT place for gauges, much much better than having down in the console out of view. The only other option which is still decent would be putting them on the a piller, something I am not a huge fan of though.

Do you have a/c still? If so did you put something behind the guages to prevent any of the cold air from hitting the back of them? I just wondered this after seeing this setup a couple times.

You should drill holes in the carbon fiber to
                              (1) make it lighter
                              (2) make the air flow threw.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.
