    New mtech 2 steering wheel.

Anybody know where I can get a good deal on a brand new mtech 2 steering wheel? I don't want to go the refurbished route. Tischer BMW has the cheapest one I've seen at $625 but if you guys know of anywhere that has them for cheaper please let me know.

Can I ask why you dont want the refurb route? I bought one for $450 with brand new leather on it already done.

Haha I've gone back and fourth about one hundred times about getting a refurb one. Honestly, in too OCD (my downfall) and most of the ones I've seen didn't look to hot, but to its defense I wasn't really searching or looking hard at getting a refurb one, so if I would've looked a little harder I probably would have found one I would have been satisfied with. Which route did you go for your refurb wheel? Ebay?

Yep, I will take close up pics when it comes in, let me know if it meets your criteria :)

I am OCD too, but maybe not as much as you are.

Nothing wrong with refurbs but they are not all the same. Keep in mind they are still used wheels so make sure the splines are good, it's the correct E30 wheel and the right diameter you're looking for. Some don't recover the horn pad so you'll have a new different type of grain leather next to the old original pad. For the OCD, this may be an issue.

True, the one I bought had very detailed pics of the spline and the horn pad was recovered as well.

Its the small 370mm E30 wheel I will take pics up close when I get it installed. I should be at my place shortly.

This is exactly what I saw when I was briefly looking at refurb wheels. They'd redo the wheel, and not do the horn center and it'd look off in texture as well as the wheel not being done so good itself.

Its really about who have done the work on the wheel. I have seen refurbished ones that are way better than stock leather. If it's done by reputable upholstery shop, I would definitely buy it over new one.

Here's a fully rewrapped wheel with tri color stitching. The leather grain is smoother than original but the work is top notch and the seams are correct.

If you're ocd then you have to shell out the dough... that's what I did. Beggars can't be choosers kind of situation.
