Help with taking apart stock seats

I have comfort seats in my sedan.

I found a duplicate pair, albeit for a coupe.

I want to switch out the seat bottoms with the original seat backs.

Anyone ever disassembled their seats? Can this be done?

be sure that the seats are from the same gen. early comfort bottoms don't match up to late comfort bottoms. do the shocks while you have it all apart.

The linked write-up is for sport seats, but I've been told that taking apart comfort seats is almost the same. I did my sports seats for the first time last fall and it was easy thanks to all the available DIYs.

My new Touring has trashed comfort seats and I also have replacement cushions that I plan to install this summer, so please post anything you learn when working on yours.

Removing th seat backs is the same for sport and comfort seats and as long as long as your new seat bottom is from the same side as the one you are replacing, you should not have to swap anything else.

Thanks, they're the same generation comfort, luckily-

Keep in mind the coupe seats recline whereas in a sedan they don't. If they are the same color as your original seats just use your old seat backs (without the lever cutouts) after removing the release handles and no one will ever know....except people on the internet where you posted this :)

That's exactly what I plan to do. Don't want my back passengers releasing my seat back on me when I drive.
