    Autoberry Upholstery Kit

    Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone on here has bought the sport seat upholstery kit from autoberry. I know that autoberry is pretty popular on the e36 boards for vader seats. I bought the kit this week and should be here next week. I am giving their natural perforated vinyl a go since the rest of my interior is vinyl. They seem like a really good deal at $420 shipped for both. I will report back with pics when they come in.

Interesting that no one is responding. There are plenty of "looking for upholstery kit recommendations" threads, so lots of guys are recovering their seats. I'm surprised no one has used AutoBerry. Maybe because they are in the great white north?

Well they are ordering in my vinyl but their customer service is really good. They called me after my order and asked me to send them pictures of the seats I'm recovering to ensure that what I ordered matched what I have. They then ensured that the color I selected was correct along with the style (perforated vs non). They cut the material after you purchase it so you can modify it if you would like. So far I am impressed with their customer service hopefully their quality matches it. Based on reviews I have read I don't think I have much to worry about. He said due to them having to order it they may take longer than usual about 2-3 weeks.

From the pics in this thread (at least the ones left f photobucket) they seem like they have pretty good quality covers. Yes I already looked at bbb

One seat is done and overall I like the kit a lot my only beef is no precut holes. Hope this is helpful for some people. I think the seats turned out really nice for a $420 diy kit

I am actually impressed with the fit. The One thing the Zoom-Zooming guys kits always have, is the bunching of the leather/vinyl on the bottom bolster, these look fairly good.

I wrapped the bolsters in a polyester batting to help prevent that. It really helps plump them up

That's usually not the kits fault, most of these kits used the OEM covers as templates, so they're quite close. Main issue is 30 year old foam is a lot smaller in volume than new foam. The rails for the hog rings are usually quite loose too.

For my Vader restoration on my E36, hitting the foam with my steam cleaner helped a lot. It restored the foam to closer to its original volume. I also tightened the internal hog ring rails in the foam with some reinforced zip ties, to get everything nice and tight.

Is there a reason they only list kits for 1987 and newer? I have a 1986 coupe and was looking for some covers. Any difference between 1986 and 1987

Their website is confusing. It appears that they are having a sale on leather covers right now at $400.00 for the fronts only but, when you choose the drop down menu leather is $750.00 with the leatherette being $400.00.

Correct the leatherette (which is what I used) is $400 and the leather is $750. I believe I have seats from an older model just based on some the attachments etc and I have made this kit work. There are just small things you will need to adapt like the bottom cover is made to have a bar run through it and my seats don't have that bar. Seems to be fine though
