what is this thing?

    what is this thing?

    It is the small round vent looking thing above the temp knob for the air-heater. I allways wanted to know what it was. But never thought to ask anybody what it was.

                  Its for the climate control system that VERY FEW e30's got. It would read interior temp. All E30's have this hole/vent

                      that was my second thought.... i know they had a microphone someplace to record memos...

                          That is NOT true. My '84 318 panel does NOT have that hole/vent and my stupid ass broke the panel so that I can't use it. :(
