The only difference between a 2dr and 4dr rear seat would be the seat bottom and that is only a minor difference. The 4dr one is rounded off on the corners slighly more since people will be getting in and out of the car there. The 2dr seat bottom is a bott wider at those front corners since it will be butting up against the rear panel.

This is very minor and I have seen 4dr seats in 2drs and 2dr seats in 4drs without a problem. If you are not looking for it you would not notice.

And the way the bottom part mounts, early cars don't have an upside down "U" welded to the chassis on both sides and instead the seat bottom is secured with 2 bolts facing towards the back of the front seats.

The side bolsters on the cabbie rear seats are way narrower than the M3 seats.

a quick question. How much more do leather seats weigh than standard cloth covered seats.
                Rear especially.

Having plenty of experience handling all of them, I can say for certain that the armrest is the heaviest, standard leather is 2nd, them pleather, then cloth, lightest of all is M3.
