apparently, they are Recaro RS, and where available in a variety of cars(jap and euro) in the mid 80s-90s(and i believe still current). Some had the hooped(mesh) headrests like mine, others had solid headrests.

lol, if I ever put the ///M badge in my seats I will be banned from here! lol, but yeah it's a nice idea....really nice Recaros you have there, I will mod my stock seats, will mod the bolsters and will modify the back support.

The A2 Jetta GLi came with Recaros, but certainly not those ones. The VW Recaro's look almost exactly the same as the VERY RARE e30 Recaros. They have huge side and thigh bolsters. If I remember correctly, Greg has a pair of them in Germany.

Yes the VW ones look very similar to mine and they came in VW Jetta GLi 16v 2.0l models only. Two year run in the us and those are powered on the drivers seat not on passenger. We put a set in my friends 95 Audi 90 csq. Had to make custom brackets but they were nice and cool compared to the black leather in the car in Vegas.

I got those for $300.00 for the pair and I got my new complete interior for right about the same price.

While we are at it you forgot about Scheel-Mann seats.

                        WHY???

Your seats are not made by Recaro.
I know there is some debate over the matter and although book writers aren't always accurate with their data, it has been published that BMW E30 sport seats are manufactured by Recaro for BMW even though the seats are listed as "BMW sport seats". They are BMW sport seats, , but that doesn't mean they were manufactured by BMW. In fact it makes sense that BMW would subcontract Recaro (a seat maker) to make the seats. E30 sport seats also have a Recaro design. If you look at early variants used on E24's and the old Recaro seats in the early 80's, they were virtually identical too.
