it seems like why would you bother removing all the sound deadening and removing weight from your car, then contradicting yourself with heavy seats? I agree they are nice, and I am jealous, but I do believe there are better options out there, nice find none the less!
The manual Vaders aren't that much heavier than any other sport seat in its class. Plus he got a great deal on them and they're mint. He didn't remove the sound-deadening to try and make it a track car or anything... it's just unnecessary weight. He's not building a race car... why not ride in comfort?

Yes vaders are heavy. Alot heavier then a e30 sport seat.
e30 sport seat ~45lbs
e36 vader seat 68lbs
But think of it like this. My e30, with no sound deadening, deleted cc ac obc etc etc, plus the stereo and the vaders.... is still alot lighter then a stock e30 325iS.
Personally while I like Recaros, they are way too dated looking to ever go in my car. I'm also not all that keen on how they feel. I've been in them many times. I have over a year of using vaders as my daily driver seats in the 95 M3, and I have no complaints. Choice here was simple, and to make it even better, as Ken mentioned... I got a awsome deal on them, and they are freaking mint.

congrats man, they are still a definately awesome seat!
I'm not sure yet what I am going to do for mounting the loop end of the seat belt to the floor. The stock slider bar simply wont work. I may end up cutting 6 inches out of it, and bolting it back down, not sure yet.
The seats however are all bolted down. No custom brackets. They are bolted directly to the floor, through the floorpan with bolts/washers/locknuts. This of course required a couple holes to be drilled but no biggie. All the hardware is grade 8.8 so there shouldnt be any issues. I think the bolts I ended up using are actually the bolts used for mounting the tranny/flexdisc/driveshaft.
