    Convertible Compatability???

Will these be compatable with an 88 325i convertible? If anyone can also tell me the difference between coupe and convertible body and mod's, please share? Check these out, they are dark and I like emm..

Seems to be an early style (based on his saying prefacelift) Which I believe is before 87. I don't know for sure.

As to differences between cab & non I know the fenders, radiator core support, rear interior panels and back seat and obviously all top parts are specific to the cab.

I think 88s still had the small tailights. we could tell you for sure if you posted a pic of the back of your car.

        Yea, what nando said.

Just take a look at your taillight. Check to see which direction your reverse light is. If it's horizontal - those lights won't work. If it's vertical, those lights will work. ;)

yours is a 90, and has old "pre facelift" tails.

if you look at the pictures in that link- it shows them fit to an early cabrio...

to answer your questions as far as differences...

cabrios have lower rocker panels, so you cant install side skirts made for coupes or sedans on them.

the front fender is different from the coupe, the rear fender has lower arches like the "88+" coupes. You can install plastic bumpers on them without modification to the bumper.

The tail lights are the same as all pre 1987 coupes and sedans.

The cabrio didn't get a face lift untill late 1991, and was in production through 1993.

Front door panels can be transferred to a coupe and vise versa. rears can not.

cabrio sport seats have horrizontal stitching, unlike coupe seats which are vertical. I think all cabrio seats are heated.

                    hope this helps.

                      The switch happened September 1990.

My seats are not heated ('87 325ic) but have ditched those in favor of vaders.

I've heard so many arguements about the plastic bumpers fitting on cabs... so the end all final word is the plastic bumpers bolt right up?

(my apologies on the thread jack :()
