Thoughts from Users of bmwlight.com Lens Replacements

I am getting close to finishing my headlight upgrade project and will need new lenses. The original glass ones are pretty badly pitted up. Buying new OEM glass would run me almost $500 which is not part of the plan. It seems that the only option for us folks in the US is bmwlight.com's acrylic lens replacements. Plastic. Obvious concerns.

For those that have used their low/high beam replacements, how have they held up over the years? Do the haze up or yellow? I assume that something like Lamin-X is mandatory?

It seems that there is a plethora of acrylic E34 lens replacements on eBay being sold out of Latvia for about half the price. Any experiences with those?

Man, I wish there was some magic glass filler stuff out there that could be used to refurb the stock glass! I freaking hate the idea of plastic headlight lenses!

    High beams look fine.

Low beams are fresnelled for Hella smileys, which is a problem.

I have the fog lenses. quality is good - they do not yellow (one of the basic properties of acrylic). however you will want rock protection because acrylic can crack, but you'd want that for glass lenses too.

Not a problem for me since, luckily, the bi-xenon conversion I am doing uses Hella smiley buckets!

Good to know about acrylic. No hazing or anything? Sounds like I will be ordering up some Lamin-X with these.

Bought these glass units off ebay from a seller in Latvia. It was around $47 for a pair. My reason behind this was that the centers are completely flat and clear instead of having the fresnel pattern.
