UPDATED!! Converting to HID soon w/ US ellipsoids...

So as a couple of you recommended squaredmotorwerks brackets I bought them for the US ellipsoids. First of all I'd like to give a huge shout out to JT @ Squaredmotorwerks for excellent customer service! My first package was lost during Christmas and JT got a 2nd set made and shipped out all on his own dime.

Sorry don't have before pics as I think the picture would have come out black... for the sealed beams...

Here is kind of the whole bucket with the brackets...

The Morimoto H1 projectors come with an actuator you can wire up using your existing high beam wire from the sealed beam so when you use your highs the projector cut off flips out of the way.

This is a picture prior to leveling...

Tried to snap some pics on the road showing how bright it really is... these parts of the freeway are actually really dark at night... especially the 2nd blurrier pic

Based on that link it seems as though the order is 9006 from car > ballasts > amp > bulb.

So assuming your car has US ellips this should be plug and play.

Why are you using an h4 bulb?

You really shouldn't put HID bulbs in a halogen projector. The halogen projector can't focus the light properly and scatters it in places it shouldn't be. I highly recommend getting these guys:

I misread. I believe the sealed beam connector is h4.

You will need to either cut off the h4 connector and replace it with a 9006 one or use some sort of h4 to 9006 adapter.

The website states that the input is 9006 and the output is the amp. So does this not mean that amp goes after ballast not before?

Any reason you have chosen this particular kit?

Oh I see I read the inputs and outputs wrong... and no no particular reason I just kind of randomly chose one to see if I can kind of get an idea of how to wire it up... with the right connectors and what not. I'm not necessarily going with this option. But I think I have a pretty decent idea of what to do know thanks!

This isn't exactly 100% accurate and much like many car things is a blanket statement. In a terribly designed reflector housing that simply just scatters light(I am talking things like 90s/00s stuff) yes this can be true.

However spefically speaking about an E30/E32/E34/Etc Hella or Bosch "Halogen" housing the projector actually works pretty well considering what you are working with.

This is an HID kit in a "Halogen Projector". I am back around 25ft to aim headlights. The is a pretty clear cut off and only real negative is a hot spot at center.

So... those of you who have the squared brackets how long did it take? I got tracking 5 days ago but it still says "electronic shipping info recieved"... have everything else just waiting on the brackets... emailed him and no reponse so far...

I had 9005's weaseled into the projector housings and the were significantly brighter than a good pair of US Sylvania bulbs. But neither was anywhere near what I get out of my Mercedes-Benz Xenon HID 'kits' that I broke out of a set of scrap headlamps. I like the hot spot in the middle as didnanm3 above experiences since I don't ever get flashed by on-coming traffic. I think I have even a little more side light and I can definitely see the line on walls next to me. These are definitely one-offs plus its been dry in Cali, and they are anything but water-tight...bright as hell, but they might kill someone with a pacemaker in a rain storm.
You say "Where are your other two cylinders?"
I say "Where's your other camshaft?"
                      Frankenmotor: if an M42, M44, M20, S50, and S52 were to have a kid.

 I am about to order these up as well once I know my US ellipsoids are in the mail. Where did you get your Morimoto H1 mini set-up from? How much did you pay? Which ballast/bulb? I am planning on ordering the H1 mini with Denso Slim amps and the XB35 4300k bulbs through Lightwerkz. What was the wiring situation? Were you able to plug-and-play everything with their 9006 adapter, or did you have to do some splicing?
