    Need advice. Got ripped off!

Hey bitches, a few weeks ago, I bought what looked like some awesome condition Hella french elipsoid lights. The sale was on Facebook and I asked the condition of the lights and we'retold they were great with no missing/ broken adjusters or parts. He did state that the adjusters were stuck. I didn'tthink to ask about fading due to the pictures. They look nearly perfect in the pics. We agreed on a privatee of $250.00 and I paid by paypal.

My friend picked them up for me because the lights were in North Carolina. My friend doesn'thave any knowledge when Iit comes to these things and he told me they looked fine. Well my friend shipped them to me at a cost of $68.00. I am now at a total of $318.00.

I open the box and crapped myself. As you will see from the pics below that the lights look nothing like the pics he posted.

The lights are completely missing the city lights all together.

The plastic is broken away to accommodate HID wiring.

One of the bulbs is missing the spring clip that holds the HID bulb.

The adjusters are actually bent pretty bad towards the light fixture.

The plastic surrounding one of the lights is gray and the other is black and looks like epoxy is holding it together.

They yellow is faded really bad on both.

The glass Iis also very very pitted.

I contacted the seller right away and he told me that he didn't realize they were that bad and he doesn't have any money to refund me the total amount. He did say that he can give me back what I spent on shipping and maybe a little bit of cash. He also Iis very apologetic and doesn't want anyone to feel ripped off but he is broke.

now my problem is that if I file a paypal claim and he doesn't have the funds, will paypal tell me to pound sand? I really don't want to kick this guy while he is down but thid really jacked up my plans for my car. It was really a kick in the pants to see the real condition. Or, can these lightsbe brought back to life and can I find new city lights? Thanks for any advice.

He ripped you off and you feel bad for him? Dude, go get your money back. And I call bullshit he didn't know how bad they were. Unless he's blind, he knew.

      You're dumb.

Either get your money back and file the claim or be a fool and let this guy sell you a bridge, too.

Maybe I am dumb then but file a dispute. The fee that one pays for buyer protection, that is insurance. They reimburse you and get money from dude.

            You're asking for advice right?

If you sent funds as a friendly....well... I won't call you a different name but will encourage you to read the PP FAQ.

You will get your $$$ back. I'd get mine back. File a dispute and move on or keep them and move on

Not sure how you can get your money back considering you did receive the item and it is not broken or not as described. You can file a dispute but paypal would have to decide if you are owed any money and I don't think they will just because you feel the parts have too much pitting. It's part of buying used parts, especially frenchies for $250. You win some and you lose some. Always worth a shot though.

I'm missing the part where he misrepresented the lights. I guess he could have taken closer pictures of the glass, but you can see the city light is missing. Also, that epoxy is how they come from the factory if you mean the thick bead around the bucket. The color of the plastic doesn't really matter. What clip is missing?
