    GLASS rep fog lenses...ebay!

Just wanted to get the word out on these. Looks pretty legit and I just got them in person today.

Initial looks are that they are quality made and glass has minimal imperfections.

holding the rep glass lense infront of cracked. Looks pretty exact fitting. Will find out soon. We should get this guy to join r3v! Idk why i'm so excited about this product haha.

How does one disassemble the old ones?

its pretty messy. Have to break old lense, cleanout the rtv. Or if can fig out how to dissolve the rtv then thats best option.

Heating them in the oven to peel out the glass is not a method?

Never done it myself, just aware of that being the route for most light systems in need of being popped open.

ON this topic... only one side of the gaskets is available; the other side is NLA. Can the gasket just be flipped to fit the other side? Or just pour in some RTV sans gasket?

You can reuse the gaskets. Rtv would make a mess (please don't do that) and you can't flip them.

The gaskets are more of a trim piece than a traditional gasket. They kind of just fill the gap between the light and the front valence. You might be able to use foam weather stripping. It's similar in density to the gaskets (more foam than rubber).

I think there are two types of gaskets. I've seen the foam ones (earlier cars?), mine are definitely rubber. But weather stripping is a good idea.

Damn, I was trying to find the lenses only a few months back- impossible to find. I ended up buying a POS full fog set from ebay and removing the lenses to use on my refreshed OEM housings.

Curious how this works for you- update us with pics!

got around to test fitting these tonight. as you can see the fit is about 98%. issue is the inner corners of the glass dont bend sharp enough so need to be chipped off. Even then the lense doesnt lay flat on the housing. I think theres a high chance that the lense will pop off after glueing in due to the tension. May be fixed with some heat to the housing idk.

                          Ruh roh.

Is this an issue with the whole batch or maybe a bad one in the lot? Can you get a replacement sent?

Thanks for trying these and letting us know.

Did you get them to work properly?

I can find them on ebay for $20 plus $30 for shipping from russia and they claim they're glass not plastic.
