^ now that's a great idea! Would cut down on production costs. You could make the "shell" of the light in a clearish plastic and then have inserts in the pink or gray color. So you'd only have to manufacture one shell for both types and save money!

it's a Kenny Powers quote on wheels

I contacted Klearz myself for late model tails. They said they are not interested in making full clear tails anymore. Only sections that you'd cut out from the stock and epoxy back into place.

If they offered the full line up, like they do for 944s, I'd be interested, but that is running $350 a taillight without any painting options. And then you still have to glue all the individual pieces together.

Exactly, Im not real sure why theyre so hesitant to "work with something" as large as an e30 taillight.

I may figure out why soon, I got my materials to make the mold so while the weather is crappy for the next couple days I may sit by the fire and work on that a bit.

The difficulty that is obvious is that it has to be a two part mold as you need the shape of the outside but also the details of the inside, so probably like a piece that sets on top of the base and holes to inject the lens material into?

Anywho a base needs made either way so Ill start with that tomorrow and report back with some pics for everyone to discuss lol.
