Did a little Taillight Repaint today Which one do you like?

Red and Tinted or Red ? I have not clear coated them so I can still go either way. Sorry for the blurry pics.

I don't like the "tinted" one AT ALL. It looks totally black, and looks like it will also probably make your brake lights and turn signals impossible to see.

I was actually surprised that you could still see the turn signals and brake lights on the tinted one. I used candy red and candy tint so the light does travel through them here is a shot with my flash on. As you can see the light goes right through the tint. I had to turn my flash off so that you could see just how tinted I went.

Use 1/2 the tint you did if you go that route. and dont tint the reverse lights at all. Otherwise just reds

I used the Testors Candy Apple Red

                    and Model Masters Window tint.

I have stripped the tinted one back to stock and am wet sanding the clear on the all red units. I painted the entire light not just the orange part. I used three coats on the orange and then one on the entire light.
They are not perfect but the are much better than stock.

I'm liking the all red ones for sure. Not a fan of spray tinted lights at all.

Crap. I just went to put the final coat of clear on after wet sanding the five original coats of clear and all the paint wrinkled. I am going to attempt to use the Testors again but with the High gloss Testors clear.

acrylic paint on an enamel wont work.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.
