    ellipses are dim?

I just installed the ellipses that I smoked myself and they pretty dim. Compared to my sealed beams they are putting about the same output. I'm not sure whats wrong. I thought it was the cheap bulbs at first but I have the same poor output after installing osram "night breakers"

^ according to jordans writeup. True HIDs will increase the light output but doesn't address the root of the problem. My guess is that my reflectors are worn. Is there any place that can to rechrome them?

So I guess this is a pretty common problem.

I just had a thought that maybe I didn't use the correct size wires to hook these up...

how shiney are the reflectors? I bought new ones because i had the same problem as you. My old ones were somewhat shiney, but the new ones looked like MIRRORS.
replace them and you will have very good light.

Update, I found a cheap solution. My problem turned out to be worn out reflectors, so I lined it with aluminum foil with the shiny side facing the bulb. Did my best to smooth/ shape the foil to the reflector. Just went outside tonight to see the results and it is DRAMATICALLY brighter than before, so thought this might help out others. I'll just stick with this for now since new reflectors are $100/each.
