thats when I had a ballast going out, the fog lights are new, and the headlights are 20ish years old so the reflectors are a bit hazy/ gone.

6K lows + 3K fogs:

i have 35w 4500k in the h4 e-code hella lows and face lift fogs and have driven in some fairly thick shit and they work good, just wire up the fogs indy so you can kill the lows in soup as they will bounce back in your face, i am not sure if it is the ballasts or the projectors in the fogs but the fogs are a little cooler color then the lows, all bulbs came from ddm and were installed at the same time with the lows running on new slim ballasts and the fogs running on god knows what old units i salvaged from a trashed e30 at my yard

I had to modify my fogs for the bulb to fit and seal properly also. i have the apexcone/ddm kits
