If anyone has pictures comparing the lighting quality of the 3 different housings, that would be great.

i bought these as a cheap temporary upgrade.
for 45$ shipped i got two h4's with city lights and two h1 enclosures.
they even come with bulbs for everything.
i'd reccomend it if you're not willing to dish out ~250$ for euro ellipse quite yet, and they perform significantly better over my sealed beams, and have the E-mark beam pattern as well

If you have any pictures of what they look like and what the lighting looks like, that would be good. I remember reading before that when someone bought some BOSCH H4's they were no better than the sealed beams so I don't know if it was just his personal problem or not. Just want to be sure about it before I do anything else.'91 E30 M42 DIAMANTSCHWARZ

Bosch H4's did nothing for me. Hella's may be different, but I think the picture speaks for itself.
Sealed beam on left, Bosch H4 on right:
I'll have Euro ellipsoids here in a week. Last time I compared to those (on a different car), my sealed beams looked brighter, but didn't have that purty cutoff. I'll post here with another half-n-half pic.

Originally posted by DigitalwaveI personally would never buy that crap Kruzen got off Ebay, even if they are dirt cheap (they are for a reason). I got my Hella H4 units for about $85 for the pair, and spent $10 on a pair of 80 watt clear halogen bulbs and the output is so much better than sealed beams its not even funny.
Dan was selling me some similar ones (h4 lows w/ city lights) and they got damaged in transit, but he sold me osram silverstars as well.. so rather then having a set of osram silverstars floating around for months until i could afford ellips, i decided to get these. They'll be a good temporary fix, their lighting is solid and construction is pretty solid as well (from what i can tell)

funcitonally and cosmetically these are great. and you can't beat two h4's with city lights, and two h1's. with new bulbs all around, for 45$.. it would cost you that much just for bulbs.
