    KE-83ZBM serial number

I got a clean head unit but no code or serial number sticker on the back. Is there an internal marking of the sn somewhere? Is there a way to reset the security code? I’ve read about soldering jumpers on the alpine radios but not sure if it applies for the pioneer ones. Thanks

You really have to watch when buying the KE radios to make sure the paper s/n sticker is there.

The s/n on that paper sticker on the back is the only number BMW can use to retrieve the radio code. If that s/n isn't present and you don't have a code, there is no other way to recover it, to my knowledge. They aren't like the alpines where you can solder a new code into the radio.

Yeah i didn't realize till after i got it, figured it was the same as the alpine ones with the sn number on the sticker. I didn't look close enough to realize it was just the FCC ID which is the model number repeated.
