    Disable Low Beam Check Light?

I recently installed some LED headlights (save your derision, I like the look) and the low beams only draw ~1.5A, so the low beam check light is on. I know I can install a ~6ohm resistor in parallel to draw more, but that seems silly to me - generating 24W of heat all the time just to remove a check light.

Is there a way to non-destructively disable the low beam check light? I'd like to be able to re-enable it later on if I change course.

could always remove the bulb which is more work than the resistor.

edit: there is an older defeat light discussion here with some good info : https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/for...ow-bulb-is-out

Oh cool thanks for that link - I tried searching before posting, but didn't turn up anything useful.

I got the morimoto canbus adapters.

        haven't had an issue

Well based on that other thread I poked around in the module that I found in the trunk on the left side for quite a while with the multimeter and I think I came to the conclusion that that module does not contain the "low beam check relay" in the wiring diagram.I don't know where to find it and searching the web has been fruitless.

E30s don't have CANBUS do they?

Well it says there it is located inside the fuse box.

                lol

no but that's what morimoto lists the product that will resolve your problem instead of poking around for a check relay in the trunk

yeah they get a lil warm but you'll never guess.. there's an engine under the hood too

They sell load resistors for this very issue. I once solved this issue on my E39 with a $7 city light kit wired into the low beam circuitry. If you just want the light out, I supposed you could just remove the LED or put some electrical tape over it.
