Attempting K9 Eclipse Alarm install (kudos stereoinstaller)

Ok, so I have what I think is a complete K9 alarm system that I ripped out of my old truck..

    I found this while searcing r3v http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...tail/2307.html
and I'm gonna use that along with stereo installers diagram

Now I'm a complete fuck'tard when it comes to E30 wiring. I'm not sure what a relay looks like for the lock but for now all i want is the starter interupt, shock sensor, park lights, horn, siren, and door triggers to work.

I like to hard-lock my doors anyway so I'm not really a keyless fan. Contradictory, I would like to have this feature work soon in the future...

so.... now is there anyway I can get around using the relays? like what if I just ran wires to the trunk where the controll thing is, I believe this is where alot of you use the keyless entry right?

also, about the parking lights. I also want my fogs or high beams to flash... Not neccessary but I want as much attention drawn when the alarm goes off..

But how should I go about getting the parks to flash? somebody said sumthin about diode isolation or sumthing... Would it be easier to just wire somthing to the hazard relay?

thank for reading and any info/links/comments would be very much appreciated!

    cheers.

So let me give you all some pics

    the brain of the alarm

    the shock sensor

Some Uknown relay, If I have any smarts on this I would assume its the starter interupt based on the heavy guage of the wiring and the diode.

and everything else including the antenna and the hyper bright blue status led, oh and the switch

Yes, you need to use relays to operate he door lock system, and no, you cannot do the high security lock with the keyless.

I highly recommend AGAINST doing starter interrupt in an E30.

          So, yeah, go get busy!

            thanks luke..

I guess i'll be remoteless for a while...

Currently getting busy... no starter interupt, i'll just use the code feature on the computer.

I'm having trouble with this still.. I think I'll just run wire from the trunk lock to lock/unlock the doors. thats if it'll work

also, i'm having trouble with the door pin trigger... if you can help me figure out how i'm sposta wire that thing.

The trunk lock wires are the same as the lock/unlock wires everywhere.

The door lock controller is in the left kick panel, as is the door trigger wire.

Did you get 2 relays to use on the door locks?

no sir... I'm dumb when it comes to relays..

I wouldnt know where to get em, less how to wire them.

I lost the diagrm to the wiring of the alarm so im so fucked right now.

I assume you have the tools to install. Crimpers? wire cutters? splices? inline connectors? multimeter? perhaps a soldering iron?

Anyway, the relay is the starter interupt. When powered it disables the starter. To get the headlights to flash you'll have to tap into the headlight relay. I've never done it but it should work as long as it's before the relay which is in the fusebox. Sounds like more work than its worth, I wouldn't do it. Just tap into the parking lights. Forget about the deadbolt, just go keyless. It's convenient and will save your keys/locks from damage.

Here's the good news...you don't need any additional relays for the door locks! Because you already have them in the central locking unit which is why you just have to splice into the lock/unlock wires behind the drivers side speaker. The dome light trigger is also there. You only need relays if the car didn't come with power door locks and all US E30's had power door locks. For instance, in my 88 Honda CRX, I added door lock actuators so I needed a relay module to drive them. Don't mess with the hazard circuit at all. Only reason to diode isolate is if you're hooking up multiple sensors together like a hood and trunk switch or shock sensor and radar proximity sensor on the same trigger.

I can confirm all of this because I just installed a K9 Mundial 3 by Omega Research in my own E30 3 weeks ago and my uncle is a professional installer since the 80's. When I removed the knee bolster the old HOFCO alarm just fell right down into my hands. This is not the way to install an alarm! Install it so when you look underneath there is virtually no sign of an alarm having been installed. Tuck everything and hide the brain. Don't be intimidated, it's easier than it seems.

I'm still lookin for the booklet as it has the wire diagram for the alarm on it...

Do you have any idea what wires are what on the k9 eclipse?

and yes i have all toolls.. Thanks a bunch!

Of course not. You need the manual for your specific model. Don't want to guess with something like this. I'm sure it's online somewhere. Just search for "Omega research K9 Eclipse manual."

I found my manual but now I need to figure out how to wire the wires to the green/black green/purple wires and wich ones lock n unlock

the alarm has two wires for each

                            + and a - for unlock

                            + and a - for lock...

                            lost..

also the horn wire is a positive wire and if im not mistaken, the horn works by grounding out... how should I go about this?

E30's door locks are ground pulse activated. You'll only be using the negative wires, 1 for lock and 1 for unlock. The postive wires are for vehicles with Positive door lock systems. The system should give you an option for Horn or siren. Why not just use the siren? the horn may require an additional relay.
