    Radio Wiring

    I have a 89' 325i Convert.
Can anybody tell me the wire configuration?

    Purple/White..... 12+ constant
    Brown/Black...... Ground
    White............... Power Antenna
Red/Green......... ???? (Makes the chime come on)
    Blue................. ????
    Yellow.............. ????
    White............... + Front Speakers

No black wires or nothing with a black stripe to tell me the negative for the speakers. I've touch the wires to something and the system played but I couldn't figure it back out. The old connectors have been cut.

my white is a power antenna. I put it to the constant and it rose up. I had it once before but when I took the radio out I forgot to label my wires :(

White is the color on the car for the antenna. Blue is the color out of an aftermarket head unit. I just did this yesterday but can't remember the other colors. I did a search on the forum though and found them pretty easy.

Is the factory amp worth bypassing? I got a Alpine CDA150 for a e34. Just curious which way i should go.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

I wired the entire car fresh for my new stereo. 16ga wires for the speakers and for the power of which I only used what appeared purple to me as the 12 volt switched power... took the ground and power from the cig lighter. (course the left over bits of the harness was mangeled from a PO)
