FUCK ME IN THE GODDAMN EAR!
I am STILL waiting on a goddamn PRICE of what it cost to ship those fucking boxes!
An HOUR on the fucking phone...WHAT THE FUCKing FUCK?
"I am so sorry for that, Mr. Fisher"
"I don't really care if you are sorry, can you tell me how to make sure I never have this issue again?"
"I do apologize for that, Mr. Fisher, is there anything else we can help you with?"
"Yes, answer my question. Make sure I understand how your system works so I do not have to make this call again"
"I do apologize for that, Mr. Fisher, is there anything else we can help you with?"
I swear to fuck, I hate shipping. Oh my fucking fuck, I need to be on the goddamn road an hour ago, now I am sitting here waiting on another goddamn call from fucking fedex.Leave a comment:

If you have any experience building boxes at all, you know this works out to like $4/hr for me, even though I built all 10 in basically a day and a half...all the running around chasing parts/wood/glue/foam, plus building the damn things and then shipping....fuck, I hate shipping.Heyo.. good build dude.. I havent built a box in a long time and buying one just seems easier at this point in my life :(.
What are the specs? internal cuft? tuning?
Do you think you can hook it up with your measurements so I can just build my own? or you wouldnt want to risk losing the design to the enclosure?
(I'll pay for the design of course)
I am on the phone with fedex right now, 4 hours sleep, gotta figure out where to find the shipping costs!
So, obviously enough, I do not really care of someone wanted to "steal" my design and build themselves silly. No one is gonna get rich off of this, but insanity is fairly likely.
Dimensions are as follows (all O.D., based on .75" MDF) W= 36", H= 15", D= 4" (at top of box) =10" (at bottom of box).Leave a comment:

UPDATE for the 8 guys who are on US soil and expecting a box (you guys know who you are, right?)
They shipped today, 11/24
This makes the fastest box build/ship I have ever done, by a HUGE margin! That measn either I fucked around far less or had less of other shit to do...
Anyway, some odd news. I shipped these boxes (well, 6 of them. 2 gotta have carpet shoved in before they leave, too) and get this: fedex won't tell me how much it is gonna cost me.
How fucking weird is that? They gave me tracking numbers, but no price...they said I will have it later today.
Anyway guys, your boxes will be to you early december. West coasters might get them before the end of the month!
Watch for a PM and/or an email (we will see how smooth I can be on the keyboard) for your final bill.
Again, thanks guys.

Actually, kind of.
EJKinght and I are gonna (in our spare time, right?) gonna fab something up based on this box, or the thin 12 box, and a super duper rear brace...with integrated roll bar mounts, integrated rear sway mounts and a chassis stiffner.
Expect sometime around November, 2012.
Just before R3vpocalipse.Leave a comment:

Hey Luke,
A while back I saw you talking to someone about building boxes to fit around rear tower braces. Anything ever become of that?
PS: Good luck with not smoking.Leave a comment:

I think before I ship, I might actually bust out the camera and take some decent pics, instead of using the celly.Leave a comment:

Well, here you go. Inside the box, before sealant. I put 2 tiny little angled bits in the upper corners to hold the face from sinking in.

Normal bead of silicone, mushed inti the cracks with my finger (messy, but works)

Here is a pile of faceplates. These are ready to go on

Backside of face:

Here is the real magic. This panel fits in the space between the 2 vertical metal braces in your trunk. This panel stiffens the box, recesses the woofer, and provides the seal. I spent weeks figuring out how to make this perfect: easy to build, easy to duplicate, inexpensive, (sort of) lightweight and to provide a 100% seal into your cabin.
That stupid chunk of MDF is an absolute fucking marvel of engineering!

This is a bunch ready to get the final sanding and foam gaskets, plus the gasket gets upholstered. This is nearly the final stage.
